Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a Driver to provide safe, courteous transportation for residents at our Carlsbad community. You will support resident independence and engagement on scheduled activities with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role is part-time, with daytime hours (9am–5pm) and potential schedule adjustments based on activity needs. CDL may be required in some communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; CDL may be required based on community needs.
• Experience in customer service or transportation preferred; senior living experience a plus.
• Ability to meet applicable transportation and safety requirements.
• Ability to operate vehicle lifts and secure wheelchairs and mobility devices.
• Compliance with DOT and state driving regulations.
• Ability to pass motor vehicle record (MVR) check.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, safe transportation for residents to activities and appointments.
• Conduct vehicle inspections at the start of shift and complete notes.
• Assist residents with mobility devices into and out of vehicles.
• Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices during transport.
• Report delays or service disruptions via radio or mobile devices.
• Maintain and clean community vehicles.
• Assist with vehicle registration and license renewals as needed.
• Follow routes and adapt as necessary to ensure safety and quality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
