The role emphasizes proper food temperatures, recipe adherence, and teamwork with kitchen staff and other departments to ensure timely, appetizing meals for residents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year experience as a cook preferred.
• State/county licensure required.
• Food Manager Certification or ability to obtain.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion foods per menu and recipes.
• Taste and assess food quality.
• Prepare special dietary items as directed.
• Coordinate meal production with serving hours.
• Document temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
• Assist with training of new kitchen staff.
• Maintain safe food handling and infection control standards.
• Communicate with residents’ families about care as needed.
• Support a collaborative, team-oriented kitchen environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
