Job summary

Wilson House is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents.

The ideal candidate will have prior cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or a restaurant setting, be able to follow recipes and meal plans, manage time effectively, and collaborate with the Dietary Manager to ensure meals meet dietary requirements and resident preferences, while upholding food safety standards. Commit to compassion and teamwork on every shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans and dietary requirements.
• Serve meals promptly with high quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new staff.
• Assist with inventory management and report shortages.
• Respond to special dietary requests and resident preferences.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and sanitation practices.
