Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; long-term care, nursing home, healthcare, or institutional cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to prepare meals in large quantities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and resident-focused.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and resident dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served according to established standards.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, work areas, and storage areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and document as required.
• Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Work closely with the Dietary Manager and interdisciplinary team to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Ensure meals are served in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with special events, holiday meals, and catering functions as needed.
