Job summary

Somerset Court at University Place in East Winston, NC, is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents.

You will assist with meal preparation, portioning, serving, sanitation, and ensuring safety and resident satisfaction. High school diploma required; food service experience preferred; strong communication and team skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and requests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment as needed.
• Provide meal assistance and help with setup and serving to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Follow all food safety protocols for storage, handling and sanitation.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies and notify shortages.
• Work closely with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Fulfill special dietary requests and residents’ preferences during meals.
