Job summary

High Shoals Health & Rehab is seeking a kitchen associate to prepare meals for residents, follow diet orders, and operate standard kitchen equipment. You will contribute to a clean, safe dining environment while supporting dietary needs and portion controls.

Strong teamwork and the ability to follow menus are essential, with duties including tray-line service and adherence to food safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares foods per menus created by dieticians for meals.
• Operates kitchen equipment such as mixer, slicer, oven and steamer.
• Cleans surfaces, sweeps floors, and stores unused foods.
• Prepares meals for the elderly in large quantities per recipes.
• Maintains proper portion control and diet orders as ordered.
• Follows infection control policies and keeps equipment clean.
• Records temperatures and checks stock levels and safety rules.
• Sets up tray line and assists in meal service.
• Assists in processing diet changes and substitutions.
