Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Neptune Township, NJ, is seeking a Registered Nurse at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. You will deliver evidence-based nursing care, communicate with the health care team, and use barcode medication administration and electronic documentation.

Requirements include a current New Jersey nursing license, BLS/CPR within 60 days, and a minimum of 6 months nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg preferred).

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• 1 year of telemetry or med/surg nursing experience preferred.
• Telemetry/ACLS certification preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to up-to-date evidence-based research, policies, and standards of care to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and the health care team regarding patient status and plans.
• Medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Point-of-Care electronic documentation of assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations.
• Patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Discharging patients to ensure safe transition and continuum of care.
