Job summary

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience is required.
• Telemetry experience is preferred.
• Oncology experience is preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three years of hire.
• Must be willing to attend classroom and clinical training to become chemotherapy competent within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to evidence-based research, policies, and standards of care to ensure safe, excellent patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and other health care team members about patient status and care plans.
• Medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safe delivery.
• Electronic documentation of patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations.
• Provide patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary discharge planning for safe transitions of care.
