Job summary

The role requires CT RN licensure, de-escalation training, and RQI certification within 3 months of hire; strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and have a current Registered Nurse license with the state of Connecticut.
• Must be trained in de-escalation techniques, and receive certification within the orientation period of hire.
• Must receive RQI certification within three (3) months of hire and maintain clinical competency during employment within this role.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of the patient’s condition and care needs including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
• Assess and reassess pain; educate patient and family regarding pain management; document assessments and outcomes.
• Develop and revise individualized treatment plans; involve patient and family in goals; monitor daily effectiveness.
• Follows seven medication rights and reduces medication errors; understands psychotropic medications and administration.
• Documents nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner using appropriate tools.
• Collaborates with the treatment team to meet patient needs; maintain safety and therapeutic environment.
