Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and have a current Registered Nurse license with the state of Connecticut.
• Must be trained in de-escalation techniques, and receive certification within the orientation period of hire.
• Must receive RQI certification within three (3) months of hire and maintain clinical competency during employment within this role.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of the patient’s condition and care needs including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
• Assess and reassess pain; educate patient and family on pain management; document interventions and effectiveness.
• Develops and revises individualized treatment plans; evaluates daily for effectiveness; involve patient and family in goals.
• Follows the seven medication rights and ensures safe administration based on patient age and condition.
• Documents the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner using appropriate tools.
• Collaborates with treatment team to meet patient needs and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
