Job summary

Stellar Care Group in Ohio seeks a Transportation Aide to safely transport residents to appointments, therapies, and activities. You will assist with boarding, operate vehicles, and ensure dignity and comfort throughout the journey.

Responsibilities include confirming schedules, maintaining logs, coordinating with nursing staff, and upholding privacy. Prior experience with older adults is preferred; STNA certification is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license for vehicle operated.
• Acceptable driving record per policy and insurance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare staff.
• Patience, professionalism, dependability, and compassion.
• Experience with older adults or physical disabilities preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certifications may be required.
• Completion of required facility orientation and transportation training.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to and from medical appointments and other approved destinations.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting vehicles, including mobility aids.
• Operate facility vehicles safely and in compliance with policies.
• Secure wheelchairs and safety equipment before transportation.
• Verify schedules, identities, and paperwork prior to departure.
• Communicate transportation needs with nursing staff and families.
• Maintain transportation logs and trip documentation.
• Inspect vehicles before and after trips and report issues.
• Keep vehicles clean and stocked with safety equipment.
• Provide courteous, patient, and compassionate assistance throughout transportation.
• Protect residents' privacy and confidentiality.
• Report accidents, incidents, and safety concerns to supervisor.
• Assist with other resident-related duties as assigned.
