Job summary

Eskaton, a nonprofit leader in aging in Northern California, seeks a dedicated care assistant to provide compassionate, personal care to residents in a community setting. You will help residents with daily activities, hygiene, mobility, and routine tasks while maintaining privacy and dignity.

Qualified candidates have a High school diploma or GED, English communication proficiency, and ideally six months of personal care experience, plus a current first aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred and good English written and spoken communication.
• Six months of experience in personal care in a residential or long-term care setting preferred.
• Valid/current first aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide companion care including reading, visiting, and assisting with resident plans.
• Assist with bathing and personal hygiene to maintain cleanliness.
• Make beds and keep rooms organized.
• Assist residents in dressing and support privacy.
• Encourage independence while ensuring safety in care tasks.
• Assist with simple range of motion or exercises as directed.
• Use/assist with medical devices as ordered by clinicians.
• Follow Eskaton emergency protocols and policies.
