Job summary

The Village of Ackley in Ackley, IA is expanding its caring team for a Resident Assistant/Medication Manager. You’ll provide compassionate care, support daily activities, and assist with medications under licensed supervision.

We value teamwork, respect, and service. The role requires weekend/holiday flexibility and an active CNA background in Iowa, with enrollment opportunities for Medication Manager if not yet certified.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age to obtain a Medication Manager
• Must be willing to obtain Medication Manager (We will enroll you upon hire if you haven't already taken the course) (Not required)
• Current active license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Iowa
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public
• Strong commitment to serving others
• Prior direct care experience is preferred, but not required
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as required

Responsibilities

• Provide care to residents under the supervision of the nurse and the support of your team
• Provide physical support for residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising
• Assists with organizing, cleaning, laundry, meals, and other assigned tasks
• Promptly answer residents' calls for assistance and provide compassionate care that is in alignment with their specific care plan
• Chart resident interactions throughout the shift and communicate efficiently with the members of your team (Upon receiving your Medication Manager certificate)
• Medication Duties include, but are not limited to, the preparation and administration of medications, tests, and medical treatments
• Ensures that resident's rights are adhered to
