Job summary

The Village of Ackley is hiring a dedicated Resident Assistant/Medication Manager to provide compassionate care to residents under nurse supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, personal hygiene, meals, and light housekeeping while maintaining resident dignity and safety.

Once certified, you will handle medication duties with accuracy and communication within the care team. We offer benefits and opportunities to grow in a supportive Iowa facility.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older to obtain Medication Manager.
• Willing to obtain Medication Manager certification; we will enroll you upon hire.
• Current active CNA license in Iowa is preferred.
• Ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to residents under the supervision of the nurse and team.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Organize, clean, laundry, meals, and other tasks as assigned.
• Promptly answer residents' calls for assistance and document interactions.
• Medication duties begin after certification and training.

Most importantly, at The Village of Ackley, your voice will always be heard! **What We Offer:*** **Attendance Bonus*** **Shift Differential*** **Health Benefits** (Full-time) - including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance* **Flexible PTO** to support your work-life balance* **401k*** **And much more!** **What you'll do as a Resident Assistant/ Medication Manager:*** Provide care to residents under the supervision of the nurse and the support of your team* Provide physical support for residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.* Assists with organizing, cleaning, laundry, meals, and other assigned tasks* Promptly answer residents' calls for assistance and provide compassionate care that is in alignment with their specific care plan* Chart resident interactions throughout the shift and communicate efficiently with the members of your team* (Upon receiving your Medication Manager certificate) Medication Duties include, but are not limited to, the preparation and administration of medications, tests, and medical treatments* Ensures that resident’s rights are adhered to **What you'll need as a Resident Assistant/ Medication Manager):*** Must be 18 years of age to obtain a Medication Manager* Must be willing to obtain Medication Manager (We will enroll you upon hire if you haven't already taken the course)* (Not required) Current active license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Iowa.* Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.* Strong commitment to serving others* Prior direct care experience is preferred, but not required.* Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as required **The Village of Ackley** currently provides a full range of services to older adults in Ackley and surrounding communities.
