Job summary

Harmony Senior Services seeks a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide quality care to residents, assist with daily living activities, and support a safe living environment. You will report incidents, participate in activities, and maintain confidentiality while adapting to a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a PCA program, strong communication, physical stamina for lifting, and CPR/First Aid certification

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Contribute to nursing team and follow supervisor instructions.
• Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Wear designated uniform during working hours including name badge.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Represent community positively and professionally.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents and care concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain knowledge of all policies and procedures.
• Assist residents with daily living activities.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Remain calm and competent during emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting resident activity programs.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to and from dining and activities; monitor attendance.
• Report illness or concerns to appropriate staff.
• Communicate status, appointments, admissions and transfers in writing.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and emotional support.
