Job summary

MyVS Home in Garner, NC is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to assist residents with activities of daily living according to individualized care plans. The role requires completing required training within 6 months, lifting up to 50 pounds, and maintaining confidentiality while supporting residents daily.

Responsibilities include helping residents with meals, hygiene, mobility, and documenting changes in condition, coordinating with nursing staff and the Activities Coordinator

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain CNA or Personal Care Aide Certificate (80-Hour) with Personal Care Aide Training within 6-Months of hire.
• Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to Lift, Push, Pull and Carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to Bend, Stoop, Squat, and reach overhead as needed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program and maintain during employment.
• Must have a clear SBI record and maintain during period of employment.
• Must have two-step tuberculin skin test (first test prior to hire and second test within two weeks of first test).

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living according to Care Plan (toileting, ambulation, eating, transferring, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene).
• Assure residents are dressed appropriately in living areas or outside.
• Assist residents to maximize independence and movement.
• Perform personal care tasks per training criteria and RN/physician orders.
• Respond to hand bell or signaling calls.
• Assist with transportation when indicated by the ED/Administrator.
• Assist Activities Coordinator in carrying out planned activities.
• Maintain clothes, beds, towels, and washcloths for residents.
• Assist with using and cleaning resident equipment.
• Provide snacks and assist at mealtimes.
• Orient new residents and document changes in condition.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies.
