Job summary

Victorian Senior Care is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to assist residents in daily living activities within an Assisted Living Community in North Carolina. Responsibilities include aiding with toileting, bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding according to each resident's Care Plan and physician directives.

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain CNA or Personal Care Aide certificate within 6 months.
• Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to Lift, Push, Pull and Carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program and maintain during employment.
• Must have a clear SBI record and maintain during period of employment.
• Must have two-step tuberculin skin test (first test prior to hire and second test within two weeks of first test).

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living as needed according to Care Plan (toileting, ambulation, eating, transferring, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, etc.)
• Assure that residents are dressed appropriately when in living areas of the home or outside the building.
• Assist and teach the resident self-help skills with activities of daily living to maximize independence.
• Perform personal care tasks per training criteria and RN guidance.
• Respond to hand bell or signaling calls and assist as needed.
• Assist residents with transportation when indicated by ED/Administrator.
• Assist Activities Coordinator in carrying out planned activities.
• Maintain clothes in proper order and assist with bed-making.
• Provide residents with towels, washcloths, and personal hygiene items.
• Assist with using, cleaning, and maintaining resident equipment (urinals, bedpans, etc.).
• Ensure snacks are available and assist at mealtime.
• Orient new residents to the home and routines.
• Follow safety procedures and confidentiality policies.
• Document changes in resident condition accurately and timely.
