Job summary

MediLodge of Westwood in Kalamazoo, MI seeks an Activities Aide to organize and participate in person-centered activity programming for residents. You will document participation and outcomes in the medical record and support a comforting, engaging environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the activity director, family engagement, and using multiple modalities to tailor activities to individual needs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists the resident activity director as needed.
• Uses the environment to provide comfort and stimulation to residents.
• Fosters a sense of community within the center environment.
• Leads and participates in individual and group activities.
• Uses various models to achieve individualized programming (pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy).
• Assists with decorating the facility and preparing for events and seasonal parties.
• Develops and posts monthly calendars for residents and families.
• Participates in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms.
• Promotes volunteer efforts in the community.
• Maintains records of activities and attendance.
• Stores activity equipment and cleans area after activities.
• Supports resident well-being using biopsychosocial model.
• Provides or arranges comfort/support to residents and families as needed.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.]
