Job summary

Aston Group is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support residents in a skilled nursing facility setting. You will assist with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and home exercise education under a licensed Physical Therapist.

We welcome applicants with or without prior PTA experience and encourage learning and teamwork in a caregiving community. Strong communication with residents and families is needed to promote independence and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current PTA certification or license in the state of Florida.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly or rehabilitating residents.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other care team members.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
• Basic understanding of rehabilitation principles and SNF regulatory guidelines (preferred).
• Ability to lift, support, and assist residents safely during mobility and therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises.
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs.
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely.
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs.
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans.
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities.
