Job summary

Aston Group is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team in Florida. You’ll assist with rehabilitation, mobility training, and therapy plans under a licensed Physical Therapist, delivering meaningful care to residents.

Experience is welcome but not required; a PTA license or Florida certification is required, with a focus on empathy, teamwork, and safety. This PRN role emphasizes flexible scheduling in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current PTA certification or Florida license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with elderly or rehabilitating residents.
• Ability to lift, support, and assist residents safely during mobility and therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises.
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs.
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely.
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs.
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support care plans.
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily activities.
