Qualifications

• Associate degree in physical therapy assisting is required.
• Florida state license or certification is required.
• Must pass a state-administered exam or the NPTE.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Administers treatment programs for patients.
• Assesses patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examinations.
• Documents patient care in charts and records.
• Adheres to infection-control policies and ensures safe environment.
• Instructs patients in regimens and promotes wellness.
• Uses devices like crutches or prostheses as needed.
