Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Physical Therapist in delivering physical therapy services. The incumbent will document patient progress notes and ensure patient care aligns with the supervising therapist’s plan while addressing age-specific needs with dignity.

Responsibilities include following the established treatment plan, modifying procedures as patient status changes, coordinating the department workload, and providing technical direction to the PT

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree.
• Licensure: Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Board of Physical Therapy in the applicable State of practice.
• Experience: Physical Therapist Assistant may be entry-level.
• Certifications: Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in the provision of physical therapy.
• Modify a specific treatment procedure within the established plan as patient status changes.
• Document patient progress notes.
• Address age-specific needs and treat patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Assess and treat patient pain per the pain management policy.
• Provide technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinate department workload.
