Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Portsmouth, VA seeks a Physical Therapist to perform initial and ongoing assessments and provide skilled therapy across outpatient, inpatient, pediatrics and off-site locations. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and deliver direct therapy daily according to current standards.

You will document progress in EMR, supervise PT assistants if applicable, maintain productivity, follow safety policies, and contribute to a compassionate, patient-centered

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to apply age-specific standards across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
• Analytical abilities to evaluate patient condition, capabilities and progress.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, gathering pertinent information and develops a treatment plan with goals.
• Provides direct therapy daily per plan of care and current standards of practice.
• Maintains accurate records of treatment and patient progress in EMR and ensures timely co-signature for supervised PT assistants.
• Maintains productivity without compromising quality and delivers efficient care that meets department standards.
• Follows departmental safety, infection control, and timekeeping policies.
• Supervises PT assistants' treatment interventions and professional growth.
