Qualifications

• Phlebotomy Certificate and license if applicable.
• Ability to proficiently perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy professionally, competently and with compassion for the patient.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for all staff members and patients, including specimen collection and handling per policy and infection control standards.
• Ensure requisitions are completed properly with patient demographics and physician information.
• Review ABN requirements for Medicare patients when applicable.
• Complete MSP forms when necessary.
• Accurately collect all specimens for lab orders.
• Provide accurate communication to clients and staff regarding lab tests.
• Keep draw station clean and stocked daily.
• Report performance issues or scheduling concerns to lead or supervisor.
• In physician office settings, collect specimens to be sent to client laboratories.
