Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood specimens via venipuncture and skin puncture in accordance with hospital protocols. You will enter laboratory orders, perform point-of-care testing where applicable, and ensure accurate specimen handling across outpatient settings.

The ideal candidate has prior phlebotomy experience or certification, holds a valid driver’s license, and adheres to safety and compliance standards as part of a patient-centered care team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; phlebotomy program preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or certification required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and skin puncture.
• Perform order entry transcription for Lab tests.
• Conduct select Point of Care testing in designated locations.
• Adhere to safety procedures for handling hazardous materials and specimens.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of work areas.
