Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved phlebotomy certification course or equivalent experience with on the job training.
• Minimum of six months phlebotomy experience OR completion of an accredited phlebotomy program and internship.
• Phlebotomy certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy for patients at draw station locations.
• Obtains required information from patients and providers to ensure proper billing and documentation.
• Verifies patient identity and ensures correct specimen labeling.
• Maintains equipment and room cleanliness and adheres to safety and HIPAA guidelines.
• Communicates instructions, times, and locations of blood draws to patients and staff.
• Documents orders and test information accurately in the EMR and LAB systems.
