Job summary

Labcorp in New Haven, CT is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the team. Responsibilities include venipuncture and capillary collections, processing specimens, data entry, and providing excellent patient service in a healthcare setting.

The role involves travel to additional sites, potential overtime, and light administrative tasks as part of daily duties. Training or certification in Phlebotomy is required, with high school diploma or GED as baseline.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent. Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
