Job summary

Akumin is seeking a PET/CT Technologist to perform high-quality PET/CT imaging across freestanding centers, mobile coaches, and hospital-based facilities. You will ensure patient safety, explain procedures, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver accurate studies.

The role requires nuclear medicine certification, CPR, and readiness to travel between sites. Prior NM procedures experience is preferred, with a focus on patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
• State license, as required.
• CPR certification required.
• 1–2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Local travel may be required.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety including pre-screening and aseptic technique; ensure radiopharmaceutical handling per regulations.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
• Explain procedures to patients and communicate with radiologists and staff.
• Train new technologists and/or PC's on equipment and procedures.
• Troubleshoot scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment like monitors and PACS.
