Job summary

The Center for Elders’ Independence is seeking a Personal Care Attendant I to assist CEI participants in home or day center settings. You will perform ADL/IADL support, transfers, medication prompts, and documentation per the participant’s care plan while upholding HIPAA and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Basic computer skills required.
• At least 1 year of experience with frail, low-income elderly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide ADL/IADL support to participants in home or day center.
• Assist with transfers using DME; ensure safety.
• Maintain cleanliness of participant areas and bathroom.
• Give appointment reminders and document services in EHR.
• Advocate for participants and respond to concerns promptly.
• Report changes in condition to supervisor timely.
• Be dependable, punctual, and maintain professional conduct.
• Ensure HIPAA confidentiality and comply with safety policies.
