Job summary

Center for Elders’ Independence is hiring a Personal Care Attendant I to support participants at home or the day center. You will provide ADL/IADL assistance, document care in the health record, and help maintain a safe, clean environment while upholding participant rights and dignity.

The role includes safe transfers using DME and lifts, timely communication with supervisors, and adherence to CEI policies. Requires California driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Assist with ADL and IADL activities for frail elderly.
• Provide safe transfers using DME, gait belt, and hoyer lift.
• Maintain clean and safe home or day center environment.
• Record participant services in electronic health records.
• Promote participant rights and report concerns.
• Report changes in condition to supervisor.
• Arrive on time and maintain professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assists with ADL/IADL care in home or day center.
• Transfers participants safely with DME and lifts.
• Keeps environments clean and orderly; manages safety.
• Documents services in EHR accurately and promptly.
• Advocates for participants and reports rights violations.
