Job summary

Center for Elders’ Independence seeks a Personal Care Attendant I to provide in-home or day center support. The role focuses on ADL/IADL tasks, safe transfers, and compassionate assistance to frail elderly individuals in the CEI program.

Responsibilities include documenting services, maintaining a clean environment, assisting with meals, and responding to participant needs promptly within a multidisciplinary team. A valid CA driver’s license may be required for home visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• CPR certification and First Aid certification are required.
• Proficient with oral and written English is required.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with frail elderly is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides ADL and IADL care to CEI participants in home or day center.
• Performs safe transfers using DME such as lifts and gait belt.
• Maintains clean, safe living spaces and assists with meal service.
• Documents services provided in the electronic health record accurately and on time.
• Act as participant advocate and report any rights violations and complaints.
