Job summary

Center for Elders’ Independence (CEI) seeks a Personal Care Attendant II to provide in-home and day-center care to elderly participants under a care plan per PACE regulations. Duties include ADL/IADL support, meal prep, medication prompting, and safety monitoring.

The role requires a CA CNA or CHHA license, valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid, and strong communication skills. Benefits include competitive pay and flexible shifts within CEI’s care program.

Qualifications

• A valid California Certified Nursing Assistant license or Certified Home Health Aide required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• A valid California driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle is required if working in the Home Care Department
• Current Basic Life Support CPR card and First Aid Card is required.
• Proficient with oral and written English is required.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with frail, low-income elderly people is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team is required.
• Bilingual is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Records vital signs and administers medication prompting as applicable.
• Assists with ADL/IADL and daily living activities in home or day center.
• Performs light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep and food service tasks.
• Ensures safety by following care plans and using DME for transfers.
• Escorts participants to appointments and CEI vans as needed.
• Maintains logs and documents services in electronic health records.
• Reports changes in participant condition to supervisor promptly.
• Adheres to CEI policies, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines.
