Job summary

Productive Homecare is seeking a compassionate Caregiver / PCA to assist clients with daily living activities in a home setting. You will support hygiene, mobility, meal prep, and medication reminders, while documenting changes and following care plans.

Ideal candidates are 18+, have completed a personal care training program, and demonstrate reliability and empathy. This part-time role requires monthly hours and a willingness to perform light lifting as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Completed personal care training program and competency.
• Sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
• Ability to carry out directions, read and write.
• Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal hygiene, including shower, tub or bed baths, oral care, hair, and skincare.
• Assist clients in the use of toilet facilities, including bedpans.
• Assist clients in and out of bed, excluding the use of mechanical lifting equipment unless trained and documented as competent. Transferring to and from bed to mobility devices, bathroom commodes, etc.
• Assist clients with walking, including the use of walkers and wheelchairs, when applicable.
• Assist clients with self-administration of medications.
• Meal preparation and feeding, when required.
• Assist with prescribed exercises when the client and the aide have been instructed by the appropriate health professional.
• Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance to a supervisor or Case Coordinator.
• Documenting services delivered in accordance with Productive Homecare policies and procedures.
• Lifting and physical activity as needed.
