Job summary

Tufts Medicine’s Lowell General Hospital – Main Campus M3 unit is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support orthopedic and spine services in a 36-hour weekly schedule. You will assist with patient care, vital signs, and ADLs, ensuring comfort and safety for adults with various diagnoses.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate care, and adherence to department guidelines. BLS certification is required; CNA experience and additional procedures are preferred to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred CNA or equivalent.
• Three years experience in health care or nursing services.
• Successful completion of courses in EKG and Phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examinations, procedures, tests and treatments taught in training, including vital signs and use of a glucometer.
• Assist patients with ADLs, respond to call lights, help with ambulation and transfers.
• Provide hygienic care, bedding, linens, and catheter care as needed.
• Apply prevention to maintain skin integrity, dressings as required.
• Assist ostomy patients with pouching and skin care.
• Prepare and administer hot and cold applications as ordered.
• Apply supportive devices such as slings and elastic stockings.
• Obtain, document and reconcile allergy and medication lists.
