Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Nursing Support professional at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA. The role provides basic patient care under nursing direction, requiring CNA certification, BLS, and basic EKG/Phlebotomy training. Prior health care experience preferred and will involve ADLs, documentation, and team collaboration.

Location is Lowell, MA with a 24-hour weekly schedule including weekends and holidays. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• CNA or equivalent certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• EKG and Phlebotomy training completed (Critical Care and ED).
• 1 year of health care or nursing experience.
• Strong patient-care and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examinations, procedures, tests, and treatments learned in formal training.
• Assist patients with ADLs, meals, mobility, and privacy/safety.
• Provide hygienic care, linens, bed changes, and basic comfort needs.
• Apply skin-care, dressings, and wound care per policy.
• Support ostomy patients with pouching and skin care.
• Prepare and administer hot/cold therapy; sitz baths and packs.
• Apply supports like slings or bandages as needed.
• Collect and reconcile allergy and medication lists.
• Collect specimens and document results; update EMR.
• Monitor supplies and sterilize instruments, arrange equipment upgrades.
• Support clerical tasks: greeting, scheduling, phones, messages.
• Assist other physician practices as required.
• Perform patient care under nursing direction.
