Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Medical Surgical Unit (M3). The role supports daily patient care, monitors vitals, and assists with ADLs to ensure patient safety and comfort.

The M3 orthopedic-centered unit handles joint care and spine patients with a high standard of nursing care. Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, BLS certification, and CNA experience is preferred; strong teamwork and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent preferred.
• Three (3) years experience in health care or nursing services preferred.
• Successful completion of courses in EKG and Phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examinations, procedures, tests and treatments learned in formal training (e.g., vital signs, glucometer, urine tests).
• Assist patients with ADLs, respond to call lights, assist with ambulation and transfers.
• Provide hygienic care, manage linens, beds and basic patient hygiene.
• Apply skin and wound care principles and dressings as appropriate.
• Assist Ostomy patients with care and skin protection.
• Prepare and administer hot/cold applications and sitz baths.
• Support use of adaptive devices and mobility aids.
• Obtain, document and reconcile allergy and medication lists.
