Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of clinical care experience; CNA or PCT experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (MA) - AAMA or
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - Louisiana State DOH
• Certified Patient Care or Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) - NHC A
• Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) - NHC A
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Non-Violent Crisis Prevention (CPI, NCI-CPI) - Crisis Prevention Institute

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned priority technical procedures and maintain a safe environment for patients.
• Provide care services like CPR, ADLs, restorative care, identify intake and output, lifting, ambulating, transferring, positioning, vitals, phlebotomy, dressing changes, EKGs.
• Prepare patient room, chart in electronic medical record, clean equipment, orders inventory supplies.
• Prioritize tasks based on acuity, resources, and patient preferences.
• Report abnormal findings to RN or licensed providers and take corrective actions.
• Provide rationale for actions based on policy and experience.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to improve patient care.
• Seek supervision when needed and maintain continuity of safe care.
• Delegate tasks to team members for direct patient care or support.
• Question task appropriateness when delegated for clarification.
