Job summary

Laredo Medical Center seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and support the care team in a fast-paced acute care environment.

The role requires 0–2 years in acute care or current enrollment in a nursing program; BCLS within 90 days; CNA or CPCT preferred. This is a full-time, day shift position requiring a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in an acute care setting, or currently enrolled in a Nursing program.
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with delegated basic patient care services and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Collect and record vital signs and patient data; report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, and comfort activities.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, and use of mobility aids as needed.
• Documentation of clinical data and adherence to PPE and infection control guidelines.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and risk management.
• Maintain regular attendance and follow policies and standards.
