Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a PRN, as-needed Transporter to move patients within the hospital and support patient care across departments. This role emphasizes safety, timely communication, and adherence to patient privacy and comfort protocols.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient identity and information accuracy, providing hand-off communications, and maintaining transport equipment in clean, safe condition. BLS certification is required before independent patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required prior to independent patient care at Bon Secours Mercy Health).

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and patient-related items to and from hospital locations using appropriate resources; provides hand-off communication to the receiving nurse.
• Monitors and inspects patient care equipment; cleans and disinfects transport equipment between transports.
