Job summary

Tower Health is seeking a Patient Transporter for Reading Hospital, with a 3:00pm–11:30pm shift and alternating weekends/holidays. You will move patients and equipment safely, support nursing staff, and help maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the facility.

Responsibilities include assisting with transfers, handling emergency situations during transport, and ensuring proper PPE and safety procedures.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
BLS Certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire date

Responsibilities

Safely move patients to and from clinical units and various diagnostic/treatment areas within the hospital via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed.
Walk an excess of 10 miles per 8-hour shift, while pushing a patient 60% of that distance.
Assist patient care staff in transferring patients to transport equipment using safe handling and lifting techniques.
Provide emergency assistance to patients who become ill during transport and remain with the patient until help arrives.
Transport deceased patients to the Morgue with a clinical staff member accompanying for paperwork completion.
