Qualifications

• One year of customer service, patient transportation or nursing aid experience preferred
• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) within 90 days
• Ability to speak, read and write English proficiently for safety-critical communications
• Demonstrates knowledge of stretchers, wheelchairs, beds and safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Communicates delays to Nursing, Imaging and other departments and coordinates transfers.
• Promotes a positive image of the department and Hospital through professional communication and HIPAA compliance.
• Trains and/or orients new transporters and supports department performance improvement.
• Performs patient transport with attention to safety and efficiency, including handoffs and documentation.
