You will support nursing staff, verify patient identities, assist with cardiac-monitored transports when needed, and uphold OSHA standards while delivering compassionate, reliable service.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: HS Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Less than 1 year in related roles.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports patients and their belongings, medical records, charts, and equipment to various areas.
• Maintains a friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
• Safely moves patients with traction, IVs, drainage apparatus, oxygen, and other encumbrances.
• Provides emergency help to patients who become ill during transport until proper staff is notified and help arrives.
• Verifies the proper patient identity by visually checking patient identification or verifying with nursing staff.
• Notifies dispatcher of the status of assigned duties and proceeds as instructed.
• Champions overall safety in the department. Reports possible safety issues and recommends changes. Complies with OSHA and other regulations.
• Dresses in designated uniform and adheres to proper hygiene when reporting to work and performing job duties.
• Transports bodies to the morgue and ensures that proper documentation is completed.
