Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients and visitors safely and promptly, while delivering a positive experience. You will work closely with UHealth Tower staff to minimize delays and support accurate patient handoffs.

Responsibilities include verifying patient identity, transporting paperwork, assisting in the lobby, following safety protocols, and maintaining patient privacy and comfort. No prior experience required; BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification.
• No previous experience required.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and visitors between departments and to/from ancillary areas.
• Identifies patient for transport by asking name and date of birth and confirming against armband while maintaining privacy.
• Assists in main lobby and with transport between assignments.
• Maintains safety with proper body mechanics and PPE as required.
• Communicates with patients, visitors, and staff to ensure comfort and privacy.
