Job summary

Responsibilities

• Transport patients using wheelchairs or stretcher/bed transports safely.
• Move patients to appropriate units or imaging areas within set timeframes.
• Maintain communication with Dispatch/Modality/Unit about task status and delays.
• Handle patient support equipment safely; rotate out unsafe/unclean gear.
• Transport specimens and deliver blood products as required.
• Follow isolation protocols and PPE guidelines during transport.
• Identify patient needs (age, language, culture) and tailor care accordingly.
• Assist with environmental duties and maintain cleanliness as requested.
• Adhere to the Medical Center's organizational competencies.
