Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is hiring a Transportation Aide to move patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital, supporting nursing staff and maintaining patient safety and comfort. You will transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher and help prepare them for transfer.

You will perform round-the-clock transport duties, record transports in Tele tracking, inspect vehicles, and respond promptly to call lights.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair or stretcher to various areas of the hospital as assigned.
• Makes daily rounds.
• Records each transport showing time left unit, destination and time returned to unit using Tele tracking system.
• Transports bodies to the morgue with care and respect for the deceased.
• Maintains vehicles clean and in good repair; inspects and cleans per procedure.
