Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated Transporter to provide safe and efficient patient transports within our facilities. You will coordinate with nursing and dispatch staff, assist patients and visitors, and ensure adherence to infection control and safety policies.

The role requires strong communication, basic math, and the ability to lift and maneuver equipment. A High School diploma or equivalent is required, CPR certification is encouraged.

• CPR certification preferred/within first 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for transport and assist nursing staff as needed.
• Report delays and communicate with dispatcher and hospital personnel.
• Perform transports safely using proper body mechanics and equipment.
• Maintain patient safety by using two identifiers and following infection control protocols.
• Greet patients/guests and provide directions using clear, courteous communication.
• Assist with equipment checks, cleaning, and reporting damaged gear.
• Document transport details accurately for records and billing when applicable.
