Job summary

Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center seeks a Transportation Driver to move residents to appointments, hospitals, and activities in a safe, courteous manner. You will assist with boarding, securing mobility aids, and logs for vehicle use.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and an active Indiana driver's license. Prior bus/van driving experience is preferred and strong communication skills are essential for resident interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Active Indiana Driver's License required.
• Driver's License size restrictions per insurance: 25–74 years.
• Experience as a bus/van driver preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to hospitals, medical offices, dialysis centers and residences.
• Assist residents boarding, exiting, securing belts, wheelchairs and walkers.
• Maintain vehicle and perform pre/post trip inspections and keep logs.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards to supervisor.
• Operate GPS, two-way radio or cell phone to navigate and coordinate.
