Job summary

Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center is seeking a Transportation Driver to safely move patients to and from hospitals, clinics, and residences. You will ensure resident comfort and provide assistance with seating, belts, and packages during trips.

This role emphasizes careful vehicle inspections, adherence to safety protocols, and clear communication with facility staff to coordinate schedules and respond to instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Active Illinois Driver’s License required.
• Class C license with a passenger endorsement for vehicles transporting 15+ passengers.
• Class E license for vehicles transporting 14 or fewer passengers.
• DOT compliant physical. Insurance requires driver age 25–74.

Responsibilities

• Provides a high level of customer service while transporting residents to appointments and outings.
• Assists residents with boarding, seating, securing belts, and with groceries or packages.
• Maintains resident safety on the bus and during boarding/departure from buildings.
