Job summary

Mercy Clinic Springfield is seeking a Patient Services Representative to greet and guide patients, schedule visits, and perform essential clerical duties. The role supports physicians and clinic staff with data entry, patient communications, and scheduling across a Monday–Friday schedule in a fast-paced clinic environment.

The ideal candidate will have a High school diploma or equivalent, with 1 year of medical office experience preferred and completion of Front Desk Training through Clinical

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of applicable medical office experience preferred.
• New hire must attend Clinic Core Front Desk Training through Clinical Education.
• All new hires are hired into this role.

Responsibilities

• Greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients and visitors.
• Performs clerical duties for physicians and clinic staff.
• Enters new and established patient information into the computer.
• Answers incoming calls and sets appointments for patients.
• Manages physician schedules and patient account functions.
• Establishes payment plans and collection of payments.
• Handles inquiries on insurance claims, disability benefits, home health care, medical equipment, and referrals.
