Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. seeks a Safety Sitter to provide nonstop observation for patients requiring constant monitoring. You will report changes in patient condition to the nursing team and support comfort and daily living activities as part of patient-centered care.

In this role you will collaborate with RNs, CNAs, and other care providers to uphold safety protocols, document observations, and help maintain a calm, respectful environment even in fast-paced situations.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to hear and see alarms and read digital readouts.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with healthcare providers in patient care.
• Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Continuous observation of patients under monitoring and reporting changes to the nursing team.
• Notify RN/Charge RN/CCP of behavioral risks or changes in mental status observed.
• Document patient status every 15 minutes for involuntary observations and hourly for safety sitting.
• Evaluate and secure the patient environment for safety each shift and maintain visibility.
• Support telesitter operations, cart management, and environmental rounds for safe room guidelines.
• Assist with patient transport and basic care tasks as assigned, keeping care team informed.
